Allow the beaded or braided foundation to fully settle before introducing moisture. Avoid washing, excessive sweating, steam, or heavy product use. Do not apply oils near the rows. At night, secure hair in a loose braid or low ponytail and sleep on silk or satin to reduce friction and preserve tension balance.
Gently detangle before washing, holding the row to prevent tension. Cleanse with a sulfate-free shampoo, focusing on the scalp between rows. Use a downward motion to prevent tangling. Condition mid-length to ends only — never directly on the stitching or beads. Rinse thoroughly and fully dry the foundation, especially between rows, to prevent slippage or buildup.
Brush morning and night using a loop or extension-safe brush. Always support the row with your hand while brushing near the scalp. Apply lightweight serum to the ends only to maintain softness and shine. Avoid heavy oils or thick styling creams at the root. Sleep in a loose braid to prevent matting at the nape. Or wear a silk scarf or bonnet.
Always use heat protectant. Keep hot tools under 350°F. Avoid direct heat on beads, stitching, or thread. Focus styling from mid-shaft to ends. Excessive heat near the foundation can weaken thread tension over time.
